~ Horseshoe Canyon
Horseshoe Canyon, once referred to as Barrier Canyon, contains some of the largest and most amazing rock art in the Southwest. Many of the figures painted on the canyon walls, perhaps around two thousand years ago, are larger than life, some over six feet tall. They contain amazing detail and variety when viewed carefully. But most striking are the shapes of the images, appearing almost as if they are floating above you. Much has been written about them and I will leave that for you to discover via the internet.
